On Tuesday September 18th, 2012, the Town of Paris in New York State hosted an informational forum on Hydrofracking. The forum was held at the Sauquoit Valley High School. 2 of the speakers presenting were Kelly Branigan and James “Chip” Northrup. This first part (of a 2-part video) features Kelly Branigan.
Kelly Branigan’s years of experience as a Registered Nurse, and also as a Real Estate Broker, provide multiple layers of expertise from which to discuss both the Health and the Economic/Real Estate Property consequences of hydrofracking. She is also versed in the fine points of Home Rule, being from Middlefield, a town made famous when it was sued for its ban on fracking, a ban recently upheld by the court.

James “Chip” L. Northrup was a general partner in a 1000 acre real estate development and a 40 acre development in downtown Dallas. He was a partner and investor in the acquisition and sale of offshore oil rigs, including the Teledyne fleet and WR Grace fleets and an investor in oil and gas projects. Chip was co-owner of Northrup Energy, which was sold to ARCO Solar, which subsequently became BP Solar, the largest solar company in the world and he served on the Governor of Texas’ Energy Advisory Council. Chip attended Brown University, Southern Methodist University and has an MBA from the Wharton School of Finance. He lives in Cooperstown. http://www.scribd.com/northrup49
