This is a creative mashup of NYS Commissioner of Health Dr. Nirav Shah’s testimony before a Joint Session on the Budget, 2-4-2013 He seems to dodges a real basic series of questions: 1: What documents did you use? 2: What health impacts have you studied? 3: Where did you get the data?

(Cris here) Stellar job Bill.
Super video that just sums it all up! Health study? yeah, we need one of those….
Too bad you felt it was necessary to add all the music and comical editing. It really weakens the impact of the information. It winds up being a worthless tool for serious discussion. Anybody with a brain in their head would see how this clown is dodging the questions. Anybody who can’t see that isn’t intelligent enough to be taken seriously in any discussion of the topic, anyway. Post the unedited video for maximum impact.
Can’t please everyone. Many people seem to like this.
200+ hits in 2 days is a lot.
The unedited version is here: v=vIS_UinXYiI or search for the title:
“NY Commissioner on Health Nirav Shah on Hydrofracking 1-30-13″
on my youtube channel (not Shaleshock)
No, it’s fun and all that, and it was an opportunity to try out some editing and mixing skills. I just see a lot of serious material diffused by flippant handling. Number of hits or likes isn’t quite the issue. Lots of folks paid money for Kanye West’s latest stuff, but I don’t how seriously it was taken. No offense intended.
thanks for the link, BTW.
Flippant? Clown? Worthless? You seem like you carry a lot of harsh judgments about others.
If your purpose is to attack, then insults are appropriate. If OTOH you want to offer constructive criticism, consider leaving out the name-calling and the harsh judgments. Your judgements are not real. Just how YOU see things. Many people like my treatment and editing.
I try to practice compassion even in a piece like this. I do not intend to judge Shah, only to highlight the facts creatively.
Please explain how compassion was implemented in this video. Regarding your creative style, as an artist you have to deal with the fact that your work will land differently for different people. This video may not be the lovefest you think you created.
Well, I don’t call people nasty names like Flippant, Clown, Worthless, Half-a-brain, etc.
A link has been added to the source video, both the About section (video description) and also as a clickable annotation over the first 5 seconds of the video.
Flippant is not nasty, worthless was used in addressing the educational value of the edited piece versus unedited, half-a-brain is colloquially understood to mean “at least half-a-brain.” In other words not totally stupid. Clown is appropriate in this case because Shah is playing at being the Health Commissioner rather than performing his job responsibly and he’s trying to wriggle out of having to answer direct questions.
What’s a non-nasty word for illiterate?
