Carol once was a conservative republican … then she got an education and learned the facts, but it’s too late for her and her farm. When will the frontlines move from remote Pa to suburb USA; how long will it take for Carol’s water to enter the Ohio River and to all the towns which tap the source as drinking water? I suspect within the next 5 years there will a cancer epeidemic throughout the midwest and the link will be overtly obvious but by then, just like Carol, it’ll be too late. Education is the key to defeating this modern day fascist monster and that will only happen from the bottom up as Mainstream American Media is no friend to the truth nor the best interests of the American citizens. God help us and more importantly God help us to help ourselves.

So what? You people and your anti-fracking crap. I hope that you do not consume anything, as everything is made from energy! There is absolutely no evidence whatsoever that tracking causes any problems! The people that show gas/fire coming from their faucets etc…. well hell, that has been happening since the beginning of time. Gas will escape the earth one way or another. Do your homework, and make intelligent comments, rather then talking out your $#@%$$^&&$%$@%. Do you really have nothing else to do with your life. Why not feed the poor? Oh, and I am pretty sure it’s a federal offense to trespass on this land. Just an FYI.

thanks, for the thoughtful, caring remark; the food is definitely at risk and needs to be tested;

the farms are being fracked and the milk, meat, produce, soil is at risk and needs

specific Marcellus contaminants testing. NY needs to pressure PA. about the risks.

It is amazing to me how vicious and personal the attacks can become when someone is doing investigative work to show the physical reality of what gas drilling is like — in plain sight. I am thankful for Vera’s dedicated and graphic work! As I watched the pan across the fields and down the community road – seeing farm / animals / pipelines / excavations etc I just kept thinking: does that food go onto market? Will the farm be able to guarantee its safety in 2 yrs? 5 yrs? 10 yrs? The basic nature of pollution from industrial operations is cumulative.

Frac sites are not a personal property issue any more than Earth belongs to corporations. Pollution does not know boundaries. All the water used up here does not come from that particular property. Any releases into the air do not stay on that property. All wastes produced from this site will not stay on that property. So please…. don’t tell me it’s your land and your right alone. This industry affects everybody whether we are an active lease participant or not.

There are many developing energy technologies for the future that will not destroy us in the process of development. For the sake of current and future generations, I’d much prefer to see those grow instead of industrial frac sites.

New York Times eh? I’m sure you would give any story credit that will support your cause of imposing your will on the rest of the population. Radiation is everywhere. There is radiation shooting through your body right now. Radon gas in peoples homes is a result of radiation from Earth elements. The problem is, uneducated people relate the term radiation to something that is going to cause you cancer such as nuclear reactor waste, or killing tissue cells like medical radiation treatments.
